We had a lovely trip on Monday with ‘Sew What?’, our regular women’s group. Kendal’s Abbot Hall art gallery had invited us to see the Monet painting ‘Haystacks: Snow Effect’ which is on display there for the next two months – for free!
As part of an outreach Lakeland Arts project with Shannon, we sewed collages in the gallery inspired by the paintings and became a pop-up piece of inspirational performance art ourselves. Vistors to the gallery wandered among us and we topped it off with coffee and brownies.
Watch out for more monthly interactive sewing projects at the gallery coming up this spring.
