Our fundraising support group, Friends of Manna House (FOMS), presented Manna House Chief Officer, Jonathan Brook, with a cheque for £4,000. The money was raised during a year of fantastic fundraising events, which included a swimathon, dog show, garden party and summer concert.

Nina Bale, FOMS Founder and Coordinator, reported an all-time high for fundraising efforts at the FOMS AGM, saying:

“Manna House is special to so many in our local community who are in need and vulnerable, and the charity’s work in helping them to move on from their troubles is invaluable. I feel priviledged to be involved and FOMS are thrilled to be making this donation.”

Nina is also running the Manna House Bricks Campaign, which will contribute to our efforts to find a permanent home. Donate £1 and you will receive a (paper) brick and be part of our push for suitable premises – Nina has already sold £1,000 worth! Bricks are now on sale at the Manna House office and will be available at future fundraising events.

You can also join Friends of Manna House for only £10 a year – that’s just 20p a week. Details can be found here.

Manna House was born in April 2002, initially housed on Kirkland, Kendal, and then moving to the Shakespeare Centre later that year. We moved to larger premises at Castle Lodge on Aynam Road in April 2010. In October 2018, we moved to the Stephenson Centre, off Ann Street, near Kendal station.
