Winter Shelter training is going well, after two busy evenings at the Salvation Army – including sessions on Homelessness, Ethos, Vicarious Trauma and Real-life Scenarios – and our Team Leaders are busily putting together their rotas after 110 wonderful people (so far) responded to this year’s recruitment campaign. We have been overwhelmed by the enthusiastic response from people from all sorts of backgrounds, age groups and across the South Lakes. A BIG THANK YOU goes out to all the volunteers from last year’s Shelter who kindly gave talks and distributed leaflets, and local radio, social media and press who carried our appeal for new recruits, as well as Clare Coxon from Ten Stories High who helped us craft the press release.
