The Sew What? group had another wonderful morning at Abbot Hall this week, sitting and stitching in the gallery with Shannon from Lakeland Arts, using the works of art for inspiration to stitch fabrics and textures in similar hues.

We went to Growing Well this week and planted coriander seeds, pulled up turnips from the field and got inspired and extremely muddy! The Spring sunshine shone through at last. Hard work is the best seasoning for stimulating your appetite as we all really enjoyed a picnic lunch in the yurt around the log burner. Always a fruitful visit.

  • Manna history

    Manna House was born in April 2002, initially housed on Kirkland, Kendal, and then moving to the Shakespeare Centre later that year. We moved to larger premises at Castle Lodge on Aynam Road in April 2010. In October 2018, we moved to the Stephenson Centre, off Ann Street, near Kendal station.
