"Manna House works for the benefit of the public in South Lakeland, providing advice, advocacy and a drop-in support centre for those who are homeless, vulnerably housed, lonely or needing help."

Opening Times:
Tuesday & Wednesday & Friday @ Castle Lodge, Aynam Rd 10am-3pm

Drop-in facilities offered are:

  • Housing and benefit Advice
  • Tea, coffee and biscuits
  • Cooked meal
  • Washing facilities (Shower, clothes washing)
  • Clothing
  • Blankets and Sleeping bags
  • Internet access for help with job and house search
  • Food bank
  • Signposting to other agencies as necessary
  • General support


Every week we create tasty and nutritious meals for clients and volunteers from donations, such as these Tuna Fishcakes with Courgette and Yoghurt Sauce and Salad: lovely summer fare at Manna House a la volunteer Jen Kagan with generous donations from Booth’s.


  • Manna history

    Manna House began in 2003 at The Shakespeare Centre in Kendal. Due to an increased demand for our services, we moved to larger premises here at Castle Lodge in April 2011.
