With the move to the new building on the horizon, we’re taking a fresh look at how we look after our clients at our Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday drop-ins and we need a few more hands on deck to make sure that everyone gets the support they need.

Could you be one of our drop-in/reception volunteers? It just requires a commitment to a few slots on the rota, a month in advance, ideally between 11am and 2pm, and a willingness to welcome clients, listen to their concerns and signpost them in the right direction for whatever support they need.

We’re holding a training session for all the drop-in volunteers – old and new – on Thursday 13 September, at Castle Lodge, between 12pm and 3pm, with a simple lunch provided. Please contact lois@manna-house.org.uk or chris@manna-house.org.uk if you’d like to join us.

Manna House was born in April 2002, initially housed on Kirkland, Kendal, and then moving to the Shakespeare Centre later that year. We moved to larger premises at Castle Lodge on Aynam Road in April 2010. In October 2018, we moved to the Stephenson Centre, off Ann Street, near Kendal station.
